The painting in our page header is by Haverfordwest
artist Anthony Steele-Morgan. Its title is "News from the
Balkans". It was chosen as our emblem because it is so evocative
of the horror of the war in Kosovo from which the inspiration
for the founding of Christian Rebuild grew. |

Christian Rebuild helps church-run projects and
Christian individuals in 'second-world' countries.
Although inspired by the need to continue the good work of the Congregational
Federation's one-off appeals for Christian projects in Eastern
Europe, Christian Rebuild is run by independent trustees from
more than one Congregational tradition. It helps Churches of all
denominations, but gives preference to those of Congregational style.
Christian Rebuild started work by aiding the Evangelical
(Congregational) Church in Sarandë (Albania) and a student
member of the Armenian Evangelical Church in Lebanon.
Church-run Projects
Christian Rebuild seeks to support Congregational-style and other
Churches in their community outreach. It will consider helping with
the costs of relief work, youth and children's work, building projects,
transport, schools, orphanages, staff pay, administration costs and
overseas travel. The picture on the right shows food being delivered
to Kosovan refugees in Sarandë (Albania).
Individuals
Christian
Rebuild also seeks to help individuals. Individuals have to be recommended
by a Trustee or a partner Church. Aid to
them may be educational and health costs or exceptional relief.
The picture on the right shows Marina, from Beirut, Lebanon. She
was the first individual to receive help from Christian Rebuild,
which gave aid to the cost of her university education. She graduated
in 2004 and is now secretary to one of Lebanon's leading psychiatrists.
Christian Rebuild is a Registered Charity (no. 1104712).
