Bible Lands

The painting in our page header is by Haverfordwest artist Anthony Steele-Morgan. Its title is "News from the Balkans". It was chosen as our emblem because it is so evocative of the horror of the war in Kosovo from which the inspiration for the founding of Christian Rebuild grew.

BibleLands - 150 Years of Healing and HopeBible Lands

Christian Rebuild has a link to Bible Lands. The two charities are not in any way connected, but Christian Rebuild feels that it owes a debt of thanks to Bible Lands, whose work in the Middle East gave some of the inspiration for the formation of Christian Rebuild.

Bible Lands is a charity with an honourable history. It was founded on 3rd July 1854 as the Turkish Missions Aid Society. Later it changed its name to the Bible Lands Missionary Aid Society and later still to Bible Lands. It works today with fifty Christian-led project partners in Israel and the occupied territories, Lebanon and Egypt, in six key aspects of Ministry:

  • Education
  • Social Care
  • Medical Care
  • Special Needs
  • Vocational and Adult Training
  • Support and Care of Refugees

It supports special schools and care centres and has been responsible for helping very many disadvantaged people.

Bible Lands has a sponsorship scheme whereby individuals can sponsor individual young people through school. Christian Rebuild recommends the scheme to those who wish to establish a long-term relationship of help with an individual child.

Bible Lands Trading offers some excellent products from the Middle East, which again Christian Rebuild recommends.
